The 2018 Lexus LS 500

Redesign 2017

The original Lexus luxury flagship sedan has been redesigned in 2017 as a 2018 model. It swaps a traditional V-8 engine in the outgoing LS 460 for an all-new twin turbo V-6 engine in the LS 500, with a 10-speed automatic transmission. A new LS 500h hybrid powertrain shared with the LC 500h coupe is expected to be offered.

Addition 2017

The hybrid version of the LS 500 flagship, the LS 500h, features Lexus’ Multi Stage Hybrid System that can propel the car under electric power alone at speeds of up to 87 mph. The sedan features a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 gasoline engine paired with two electric motors and a small lithium ion battery for the equivalent of 354 horsepower. The 2018 Lexus LS sedan goes on sale in late 2017, with the hybrid expected soon after.
