Acura RDX

Segment: Premium CUV

Drivetrain option(s): FWD/AWD

Powertrain(s): Gasoline, Hybrid

Redesign 2018

The compact crossover is the first Acura fully developed under an edgier design direction first relayed with the Precision concept. The RDX has a 2.0-liter turbo engine, a segment-first 10-speed automatic transmission and the return of Acura's Super-Handling all-wheel-drive system. The 2019 Acura RDX infotainment hub is commanded by a new touchpad technology that the company says will make controls more intuitive and easier to use while driving. The "True Touchpad Interface," uses absolute positioning, so when a user wants to access a function on the top left of the screen, for instance, they tap the top left portion of the touchpad to highlight it. Acura says this is the first time absolute positioning has been deployed in the driving environment. Acura said the interface doesn't require people to locate a cursor on the screen while navigating the touchpad. The touchpad has a slightly concave shape to give users "tactile feedback," and make it easier to find the pad's center.
