Despite the million-euro price — $1.4 million, including shipping and gas guzzler taxes — Ferrari sold out its 499-unit run of the car before its world debut in March 2013 at the Geneva auto show.|
The LaFerrari is rated at 950 hp, achieved by the combination of 789 hp from a nonturborcharged 6.3-liter V-12 gasoline engine and 161 hp from an electric motor. To save weight, engineers eliminated traditional seat structures. Occupants sit on upholstery affixed to the carbon fiber cockpit. Instead of moving the seat, the driver adjusts the pedals and steering wheel.
