The MKC is a compact luxury crossover aimed at customers of the Acura RDX, Audi Q5 and BMW X3. It is scheduled to go on sale in the second quarter of 2014. The MKC, introduced in concept form at the 2013 Detroit auto show and based on the Ford Escape, will have the MKZ's spread-wing grille. It also will have a push-button gear shifter, which frees up the center console for storage and gives the interior a more spacious feel. The MKC will be powered by Ford's new 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine. The entry-level engine will be the 2.0-liter EcoBoost. Lincoln plans no hybrid version, but that could come later. The MKC's center console features buttons and knobs to operate the radio and climate control functions, a departure from the capacitive switches that dominate the MKZ console.
