Mini Cooper hardtop
The third-generation hatchback goes on sale in March 2014. The redesigned Cooper S hardtop will be slightly longer and will feature a more raked windshield. It will share a new fwd and four-wheel-drive architecture with a new range of entry-level BMWs.

Responding to consumer complaints, Mini has gone mainstream with its interior layout.

The speedometer and tachometer have been moved from the center stack to a spot above the steering wheel on the redesigned Mini Cooper hardtop unveiled here. The window controls have been moved from the center console to the door. Ditto the door lock controls.
The radio and audio controls, which critics say are nonintuitive and difficult to operate, have been replaced by dials. The seats were made more comfortable with additional padding.
