Last modified: 12/14/13
This Fit-based compact urban crossover debuted as the Vezel at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. North American naming has not been announced. It is about 9 inches shorter than the Honda CR-V compact crossover. On sale in December 2013 in Japan, it arrives in the United States in the summer of 2014 with the same Earth Dreams engine as the Fit, but could get an added turbocharger for upmarket models. The powerplant will be teamed with a continuously variable transmission. A hybrid drivetrain, expected to account for the bulk of sales in Japan, is not expected to be initially offered stateside, where the model will be sourced from Honda's new assembly plant in Mexico.
