Opel/Vauxhall Astra
Opel/Vauxhall has given its new Astra a bold, distinctive exterior design matched with spacious, premium-feel cabin.
Marking the sixth generation of Astra in 30 years, the new car's design team was led by Mark Adams, the British designer responsible for last year's European Car of the Year-winning Insignia.
The Astra will be a key launch for Opel/Vauxhall and will compete against the lower-medium segment's leader, the Volkswagen Golf, as well as the Renault Megane and Ford Focus, when it goes on sales in European showrooms by the end of the year.
The Astra will debut a new 140hp, turbocharged 1.4-liter gasoline engine, joining three further gasoline engines, which range from 100hp to 180hp, and four diesel engines ranging from 95hp to 160hp. All engines are Euro 5 compliant.
