A new dealer program enables electrified vehicle customers to buy a car and residential charger in a single transaction.

AeroVironment, a Monrovia, Calif., company that builds EV chargers, unveiled the program today at the National Automobile Dealers Association convention in Orlando.

Electrified vehicles typically come with 120-volt chargers, but AeroVironment’s offering includes the 240-volt residential charging station. That cuts charging times from as long as 22 hours with a 120-volt unit to as fast as three hours, according to the company.

The program aims to streamline purchases by combining charger and installation fees with the purchase and financing of a vehicle, AeroVironment says.

A 240-volt AeroVironment charger costs between $949 and $1,049. Installation and support are included in the cost of the program.
