DETROIT -- Auto suppliers are sought for a survey about how to strengthen the U.S. industry in the face of growing global competition.
Case Western Reserve University's Weatherhead School of Management is looking for companies that supply goods or services used in the manufacture of new cars and light trucks. Companies at all tiers of the supply chain, including those that provide tooling or engineering services, are invited to participate.
"The study will provide the first in-depth look at all levels of the supply chain in the U.S. since the recent economic crisis and enable us to make informed policy recommendations," said Susan Helper, lead researcher on the study, in a statement.
"We are surveying the full spectrum of companies of every size all across the country."
Study results are to be delivered at a suburban Detroit conference in early May and will be sent to government policymakers and automakers. Suppliers that complete the survey will receive a free personalized benchmarking report in April.
The study is funded by the U.S. Department of Labor and is endorsed by a variety of industry organizations including the Original Equipment Suppliers Association and the Center for Automotive Research.
To sign up to complete the 15-minute survey, contact Brian Peshek, project manager, at brian.peshek@case.edu or 216-368-5791. Suppliers have until March 20 to return the completed survey.
