Toyota Motor Corp. is working on plans to build a new crossover model in Georgetown, Ky., a move that would help ease the plant's dependence on Camry sedans.

The $400 million plan, which would not expand Georgetown's capacity or increase its work force, would require Toyota to move some of its current output to another plant. Details of the new vehicle were not available.

A Toyota spokesman, who said the crossover could be assembled in other Toyota plants, said the Kentucky legislature is preparing an incentive package.
