Dr. Isaac Porche is a Senior Analyst at RAND's Pittsburgh Office. He leads multiple projects across a number of subject matter areas including automotive technology and military communication networking. Prior to joining RAND in 1998, Dr. Porche was Project Engineer for General Motors Electric Vehicles, where his work was integral to the development of the EV1 Electric Vehicle. He was also a transportation research engineer for the Environmental Research Institute of Michigan where he focused on Intelligent Transportation Systems. Dr. Porche received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Master's degree from UC Berkeley, where he worked on the automated highway system project as a graduate student.
