Daniel F. Akerson

Daniel F. Akerson is chairman and chief executive officer of General Motors. He joined the company in July, 2009 as a member of the Board of Directors.

Mr. Akerson and his team have moved quickly to reestablish GM as one of the world's largest automakers and a lynchpin of manufacturing after the company emerged from bankruptcy in July, 2009 during a period of deep global recession.

Under his leadership, GM has taken critical steps to transform the company by launching a $23 billion IPO—the largest in history—establishing consistent profitability, gaining market share, improving product quality, investing in manufacturing and job creation, and generating impressive global growth. GM holds a leadership position in the world's two biggest growth markets, Brazil-Russia-India-China (BRIC) and North America.

Mr. Akerson has accelerated GM's efforts to improve the fuel efficiency of its vehicles. GM today has the best line-up of fuel-efficient vehicles in its history, including the Chevrolet Sonic and Cruze Eco, and the Buick Verano and LaCrosse with eAssist technology. GM is pushing to lead in advanced technology and vehicle electrification with products like the Chevrolet Volt, Opel Ampera and an electric version of the Chevrolet Spark.

Prior to joining GM, Mr. Akerson was a managing director and head of global buyout for The Carlyle Group in Washington, D.C. In this position, he managed more than $50 billion in assets and more than 200 portfolio companies with several hundred thousand employees around the world. He was instrumental in helping Carlyle achieve 30 percent gross internal rates of returns in the firm's corporate private equity business.

Mr. Akerson also served as CEO or president of several telecommunications and technology companies, including MCI, Nextel Communications, XO Communication and General Instrument, through periods of explosive growth and dynamic change. Under his leadership as chief financial officer and president, MCI doubled its market share.

A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a bachelor of science in engineering, Mr. Akerson earned a master's of science degree in economics from the London School of Economics.

Mr. Akerson serves on the Boards of the American Express Company and the U.S. Naval Academy Foundation. He also serves on the Tsinghua University School and Economics and Management Advisory Board, the International Business Leaders Advisory Council of Shanghai, and is a member of the Business Council.

Shi Jianhua is the vice secretary general for the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). A veteran in China's automotive industry, Mr Shi was previously an executive of China National Automotive Industry Corp.

Mr Shi is a senior engineer and holds an MBA degree.

David L. Schoch

David L. Schoch

David L. Schoch is the chairman and CEO, Ford Motor China. He was named to this position, as well as elected a company officer, on Sept. 22, 2011.

Mr. Schoch oversees direct responsibility for the operations and business leadership of Ford Motor China. He reports to Joe Hinrichs, group vice president and president, Asia Pacific and Africa.

Mr. Schoch was previously controller, The Americas, a position he held since Sept. 1, 2009. Prior to that, he was executive director, Ford Canada, Mexico and South America Operations. He also served as chief financial officer and vice president of strategic planning for Ford of Europe. Before joining Ford of Europe, Mr. Schoch was chief financial officer of Ford Asia-Pacific Operations.

Since joining Ford as a financial analyst in 1977, Mr. Schoch has held a variety of leadership positions. His extensive global experience also includes senior leadership positions in South America and South Africa

Dave Schoch received a bachelor's degree in business from Lycoming College and his MBA in finance from Temple University.

James E. Press

Jim Press

Jim Press was named president, international operations for McLarty Automotive Partners in September 2011. In this position, he oversees dealerships that McLarty operates in China, Mexico and Brazil.

Prior to his work with McLarty, he advised Nissan and partner Renault SA on the companies' global sales and strategy.

From 2007 to 2010 he served first as president and vice chairman of Chrysler Group LLC and president responsible for North American sales, international sales, global marketing, product strategy and service and parts. In 2009 he was appointed deputy CEO and co-led Chrysler's successful emergence from Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Prior to joining Chrysler, Jim Press was the president and COO of Toyota Motors Sales (TMS), USA and a member of the company's board of directors. He was also an officer of Toyota North America. In June 2003, Mr. Press was also appointed to serve in a global advisory capacity as managing officer for the parent company Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan.

While at Toyota, he had the overall responsibility for sales, marketing and distribution for Toyota and Lexus in the United States. He was the first American president of TMS.

Mr. Press was the first international automotive executive to chair the industry's top trade group and he has received the "Distinguished Service Citation Award" from the Automotive Hall of Fame. He also has been named an industry "All-Star" leader by both Automotive News and Automobile Magazine.

Mr. Press received a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Kansas State College (now Pittsburg State University) in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Jack Cheng

Jack ChengJack Cheng is the general manager of GAC Fiat and the vice president of APAC group purchasing. Before he joined Fiat, Mr. Cheng worked for Ford Motor Company. He is a 26-year veteran with Ford, starting as a product design engineer in 1981 at Ford Lio Ho in Taiwan. Prior to coming to China, Mr. Cheng held numerous positions at Ford including car product planning, engineering/development, supply chain and purchasing in the US, Australia, Taiwan and the UK.

Mr. Cheng was the pioneer of Emerging Market sourcing from China for Global OEM's and led the effort as the head of the Ford Global Sourcing Office in Shanghai in 2002. Previously, he was also the purchasing director of JiangLing Motors Corporation (1997/98) and ChangAn Ford (2001/2002), Ford's two JVs in China.

Mr. Cheng received a mechanics engineering degree from National Cheng Kung University.

Mr. Liu is special assistant to the president of Great Wall Motor Co. and head of Great Wall's market and brand research center. He joined Great Wall in 2010.

Mr. Liu received his bachelor's degree from the Beijing Institute of Technology and a masters degree as well as a Ph. D. in automotive engineering from Loughborough University in the United Kingdom.

Dr. Feng Shen

Dr. Feng Shen has been in global automotive industry for more than 15 years, in the area of engineering management, product development, global sourcing and supplier management, 6-Sigma, quality control and CAE. He currently is the vice president of research & development at Volvo Cars China.

Prior to this, he was sent to China by Ford North America Powertrain Operations to manage the China sourcing and PD business. Dr. Shen had been with Ford PTO in the US for more than 10 years, holding positions as a technical specialist, manager, and 6-Sigma Master Black Belt. Dr. Shen was a senior engineer with auto suppliers in the US before he joined Ford.

Dr. Shen earned his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Auburn University in 1996.

Geoff Broderick

Geoff Broderick

Geoff Broderick is the vice president and general manager of Asia-Pacific automotive operations at J.D. Power and Associates, a leader in providing global analysis, insights and solutions to the automotive industry. He is responsible for regional automotive operations and is based in Shanghai, with additional offices in Beijing, Tokyo, Bangkok and Singapore.

Since joining J.D. Power and Associates in 2005, Mr. Broderick has held several positions, most recently serving as the general manager of the Americas, where he had operational responsibility for all automotive operations across the United States, Canada, Mexico and Brazil.

Before joining J.D. Power, Mr. Broderick held leadership and operating positions at the New York and London offices of The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc., including McGraw-Hill Construction, Standard & Poor's and Businessweek.

Mr. Broderick served as a surface warfare officer aboard the USS KINKAID (DD-965) and several other ships and commands in weapons, operations and engineering leadership positions in the United States Navy.

Mr. Broderick earned a bachelor's degree from the United States Naval Academy and an MBA from the University of Virginia.

John Zeng

John Zeng

John Zeng is the Asia Pacific forecasting director for LMC Automotive Consulting. Mr. Zeng has nearly 15 years of experience in the automotive industry. Prior to joining LMC Automotive Asia Pacific in August 2010, he was with IHS Global Insight, where he was the China chief market analyst for five years, specializing in China's automotive industry outlook. Prior to that, he worked at the Automotive Industry Office in Huizhou; Dongfeng-Honda Motor Huizhou Preparatory Office; and Ford Motor Company in China.

Mr. Zeng received a bachelor's degree in engineering, with a specialization in automotive manufacturing engineering, from the College of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, Hunan University, China. He received an MBA from Schulich School of Business, York University in Canada. He is fluent in Mandarin and English.

Jay K. Kunkel

Mr. Jay Kunkel, head of Continental Corporation GmbH China and responsible for regional functions, assumed this position in March, 2005 and is based in Shanghai, China.

In his seven years at Continental, Mr. Kunkel has established Continental~s Asia headquarters and significantly enhanced Continental~s Asia engineering presence with the establishment of technical centers in Japan, India and two in China. During his tenure, Mr. Kunkel has grown Continental~s Asia and China business to several billion Euros and more than 30,000 employees in Asia and 15,000 in China.

Prior to joining Continental, Mr. Kunkel was based in Tokyo with PricewaterhouseCoopers Financial Advisory Group and was managing director and head of PwC~s Corporate Finance/M&A activity in Japan as well as Asia leader for automotive & manufacturing and also Asia leader for private equity advisory.

Prior to PwC, Mr. Kunkel was regional director of Asia for Ford Motor Company~s automotive components division and managed the regional creation of what is now Visteon.

In 1990 Mr. Kunkel joined Mitsubishi Motors Corporation and spent several years between MMC~s Tokyo and North American Headquarters. Mr. Kunkel held several positions including head of corporate planning for North America as well as vehicle program manager for the US$70,000 3000GT Spyder.

Mr. Kunkel began his automotive career with Chrysler Corporation in 1984 and held various management positions. In 1986 he relocated to Tokyo, Japan with regional responsibility for purchasing and supplier development and joint-venture relationships.

Majdi B. Abulaban

Majdi Abulaban is a senior vice president of Delphi and president of Delphi Electrical/Electronic Architecture, effective February 2012. He is also president, Delphi Asia Pacific and oversees the company's operations throughout Asia, including wholly owned manufacturing sites and joint ventures across Japan, Korea, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, India and Australia.

Mr. Abulaban began his Delphi career in 1985 as a manufacturing engineer at Delphi's Warren, Ohio operations. He has held several assignments including finance manager, Delphi E/EA China; managing director, E/EA Shanghai; and managing director, ASEAN and India Region. Mr. Abulaban also served as director, Asia Pacific Operations for the Thermal Systems division before returning to North America as business line executive for cockpits in February 2001. In July 2002, Mr. Abulaban was named managing director, Asia Pacific, E/EA and most recently served as managing director, Delphi Connection Systems.

Majdi Abulaban earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and a master's degree from Case Western Reserve University. He is vice chairman of the Shanghai Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment (SAEFI) and a member of the Corporate Advisory Board of Case Western Reserve University's Institute for Management and Engineering.

Jean-Michel Vallin

Jean-Michel Vallin was appointed President of Faurecia China Holding, as well as Senior Vice President of the China Division (Seating, Interior and Exterior Business Groups) in January 2008. He has responsibility for sales of EUR 540 million, 14 plants, three R&D centers and some 4,000 employees.

With 28 years of experience in the automotive industry Mr. Vallin is a seasoned executive with extensive expertise in general management, sales and project management, and manufacturing and partnership development.

Jean-Michel Vallin began his career at Valeo in 1980, where he held several positions over a period of 15 years, until being appointed to the position of president of Valeo Engine Cooling North America. He later joined Crown, Cork & Seal as manufacturing director of the company's European Division.

In 1998, he joined Sommer Allibert North America as CEO. When Faurecia acquired Sommer Allibert in 2001, Mr. Vallin became CEO of Faurecia Interior Systems North America. He returned to France in summer 2004 and worked in a number of general management positions within Faurecia Interior Systems.

Jean-Michel Vallin holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Institut National des Sciences Appliquees-INSA (Lyon, France).

Frederick (Rick) Livingood

Frederick (Rick) Livingood is general manager of GMAC-SAIC China. This is a Joint Venture company between Ally Financial Inc., Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation, and Shanghai General Motors. The JV is an Automotive Finance Company, regulated by the People's Bank of China.

Mr. Livingood is responsible for asset and risk management, market share growth and customer satisfaction. Since its inception, GMAC-SAIC has provided financial services to more than 600,000 Chinese customers.

Rick Livingood joined Ally Financial (formerly GMAC) in 1982. He progressed through various positions in operations and credit management in the U.S. In 1996, Mr. Livingood was promoted to managing director of Chile. This was shortly followed by managing director positions in Argentina and Mexico.

He served as regional manager for GMAC Europe for five years beginning in 2002. Here, he was responsible for the management oversight of GMAC's business in 13 Eastern and Western European countries. Mr. Livingood was named general manager of GMAC-SAIC China in July 2007.

Rick Livingood holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Salisbury University. He also holds an associate degree in photography from Chowan College of Graphic Arts, and still pursues photography as a hobby.

Mr. Peng-Wei Tan is the president of Asia Pacific for ADP Dealer Services, a global $9 billion business outsourcing solution provider of HR and vehicle industries, responsible for its business development in Asia Pacific.

Mr. Tan joined ADP in July 2010, prior to which he was the general manager for HP Enterprise Services, China. Apart from his move to TRW Systems Overseas Inc between 2000 and 2001, Mr. Tan had been working in Electronic Data Systems (EDS) as regional account executive, managing director, client delivery executive successively from June 1987 to November 2008 at both the Asia Pacific and South East Asia regional level.

Mr. Tan has more than 23 years experience in Executive Management, Sales & Business Development, Account & Program Management and Consultancy in the IT Services Industry covering Application, Infrastructure and Business Process Outsourcing Services.

Mr. Tan holds a masters degree in business administration from University of Hull in U.K. and a bachelors degree of science from National University of Singapore.
